Dogs That Make a Difference: contributing writer
As a volunteer with Delta Therapy Dogs, in 2014, I was invited to write a personal story about visiting aged care facilities with both my dogs Jett and Roxie for the book, Dogs That Make a Difference, published by Penguin Books Australia.
While my story was about both dogs’ experiences as therapy dogs, it was mainly centred around our Rottie mix boy Jett (who, sadly, we farewelled in May 2020).
My submission was well received by the editor, with very few changes made to the story. They also ran with my choice of title: A Gentle Giant Finds His Feet.
I was delighted that my photos of my dogs also made the back cover (see image on left), and a page inside the book!
This was a double coup for me – as a writer and a dog lover.
